Play Singles at Writtle Tennis Club

For those who prefer to play singles, of course, we encourage members to get together and battle it out!

Friendly singles matches can be arranged internally amongst members, we hold tournaments or you can join a ladder.

 

Members have the opportunity to play plenty of friendly singles tennis ladder matches at the club through Sportch. You can play against other members or external competitors.

Summary

  • The club ladder is open to all adult players of any ability.
  • You can play as much or as little as you want... there's no commitment.
  • You get flexibility on when, where and how your matches are played by arranging this with your opponent through in-app chat.
  • Your ranking and player profile update live as results are confirmed.
  • Your eligible matches will count towards your ITF World Tennis Number.
  • Your ranking in the ladder is determined by Sportch rating points which in turn depend on your match results (win, draw or lose)...

How to join

  • Download the free Sportch app (iOS or Android), OR use the web app.
  • Register and select 'Writtle Tennis Club' as your Club when filling out your player profile.

Writtle Tennis Club have partnered with Sportch to offer friendly competitive singles tennis for adult members of all standards!

If you would you like to play more or are looking for new people to play, this is a great way to play friendly yet competitive tennis and improve your game. All members can play their singles matches at the club free of charge!

Through Sportch players match with opponents of a similar level and then arrange their matches at a mutually convenient time and place that suits both players.

The ladder is completely automated and is accessed through the Sportch app. The app allows you to easily view rankings, contact opponents and record results. The ladder is free, flexible and open to all adult members so it really doesn't matter what level you play at or how often you can play. It's a great way to meet other players of a similar standard, play some matches and hopefully improve your tennis. For players who really enjoy competing in singles you can also find other local players to play against and improve your rating.
