Competition Pathway

We truly believe that all tennis players should be "playing the game", not just attending coaching! With that in mind, we have designed a competition programme to suit everyone of all abilities and ages.

Our competition pathway offers competitive opportunities for players, supporting them to access appropriate competition at Royal Wooton Bassett TC and local venues.

The pathway enables players to start competing in coaching, fun and recreational competitions before progressing to more formal tournaments at local venues.

1.LEARN

Getting into competition through coaching is a great way to introduce kids and adults to competition. Players will have Matchplay weeks in their lessons. It’s fun, you play as part of a team, and you learn the rules.

2.PLAY

Fun and recreational competitions are often your first experience of individual competition.

Mini Matchplays (all juniors 10 and under)

You will play some singles and doubles matches as part of a team. This builds upon the work being done in lessons and teaches players how to play matches in a fun way! There is no elimination, players just play and have fun!

Check out when we are running these on our events page.

LTA Youth Team Challenges (Red, Orange, Green, & Yellow stage players)

These are a bigger versions of our mini matchplays! These can be for all ages, but will vary between each event. Players play matches in a team and win prizes! Included in your membership at Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club.

Fast 4 Friday's (all juniors 11-16)

These are fun matchplay events for our yellow stage players (11 years plus). Players will do a quick "fast 4" format. These are perfect for players to get extra match practice outside of their lessons.

3.COMPETE

There are lots of tournaments for juniors, adults and vets taking place every single week all over the county. We really do encourage all our players to get out there and start playing matches. What could be more fun?

Here are quick links to local tournaments for different age groups.
