Join the Club's Board 

No experience needed. A passion for our club, ideas and an hour of your time a week.

In order for our Club to continue to run smoothly in 2025, we're now seeking Board Members. You may not be aware that our Club is run by 12 members, who voluntarily sit on the Board and collectively make decisions on behalf of the Club.

Each calendar year, Board Members are elected or re-elected by any Club member who is 18 or over and any nominations must be seconded by another Club member.

If you would like to become a Board Member for one of the roles detailed below:

  • Please ask another Club member who is 18 or over to nominate you on the Clubhouse notice board, and
  • Provide another members name to second the nomination.

Chairperson

Responsibilities include chairing and setting the agenda of the monthly Board meetings, overseeing the development of the Club, having a key oversight of all the Club functions, presenting at the Club's AGM and drafting the Club'sAannual Report.

Vice Chair

Responsibilities include deputising for the Chairperson when need be, such as chairing and setting the agenda of the monthly Board meetings, overseeing the development of the Club and presenting at the Club's AGM.

Secretary

Responsibilities include drafting and circulating the minutes and actions of Board meetings. Liaising with external partners such as Tennis Wales and the LTA and the main contact for these partners. Answering member queries. Attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.

Treasurer

Responsibilities include managing the Club's bank accounts, ensuring invoices and expenses are paid, ensuring that the Club complies with any HMRC requirements, liaising with the Club's accountant and auditor, banking money and providing Board finance reports. Attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.

Men's Team Tennis Captain

A key function of the Board. The Men's Team Tennis Captain, ensures that senior tennis activity is provided to the highest quality, that all members have an equal opportunity to take part in tennis whether that be from a social or competitive perspective.

Ladies Team Tennis Captain

A key function of the Board. The Ladies Team Tennis Captain, ensures that senior tennis activity is provided to the highest quality, that all members have an equal opportunity to take part in tennis whether that be from a social or competitive perspective.

Junior Development Officer

Acts as a conduit between the coaches, parents and the Board, works closely with the coaches to help develop the coaching and competition programme as well as keeping the Board informed of any updates. Attending Board meetings and is a Board Member.

Welfare Officer

Responsibilities include responding to any concerns or issues that arise for children, young people and adults at risk in a confidential and sensitive manner, contacting the Board to discuss any concerns that have been raised where you do not feel able to adequately manage, liaising with third parties, promoting the the safeguarding of all children, young people and adults at risk at the Club.

Marketing Officer

Responsibilities include designing and writing the Club newsletter, communications, content production for the Club's social media platforms, updating the Club's website and attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.

Membership Secretary

Responsibilities includes recommending the membership fee structure to the Board, communicating the fees to members and working closely with the Treasurer to check fees have been paid. Providing Club info to prospective members and attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.

Bar Officer

Responsibilities include managing all bar related activities, providing a monthly report for Board meetings, recommending any price changes or general improvements to the social aspects of the Club. Attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.

Social Secretary

Responsibilities include setting the off court social calendar for the year as well as liaising with members who may wish to hire the Club for private functions. Attending monthly Board meetings as a Board Member.
