Events and Activities happening at the Club

We have competitions, open days, new courses for beginners... have a look at what's available!

Lots of Tennis Opportunties for Club Members

Sunday Afternoon - Tea and Tennis from 4.00pm.

Play a couple of sets, relax and chat with a cup of tea and some cake. Then play some more! All members welcome, this is a very sociable and relaxed way to play tennis.

Cardio Tennis - Monday at 6pm

If you want a good workout to warm you up for club play then join John Kimani's Cardio Tennis session. It's Pay & Play (£5 Members £7 non-members) and you don't need to book, so just turn up when you can. Look out for the new dates and times.

Club Nights - Mondays from 7.00pm

All members are welcome to take part in Club nights. If you're new to the club just come down and get on court where you'll soon find new friends and playing partners. There are no restrictions on the floodlights so you can play as late as you want to - but leave time to finish the evening with a drink in the social club bar.

Look out for the American Doubles events that are held occasionally on Mondays.

Match Practice - Tuesdays from 7.00pm

Members who play, or aspire to play, for our senior league teams are welcome to match practice. The club enters teams in summer and winter leagues and new players are always welcome. Teams play in various divisions of the leagues so most players who enjoy competitive matches  get a game. Selection for teams is on merit, not seniority. Some of our junior players come to the practice sessions at the invitation of the coach or team captains.

Box League

Any members who would like to play a few extra games can join the box league - usually we have four in a box, so that's three games to be played over about five weeks. You'll be with people of roughly the same ability, so expect very competitive games!

Friday Doubles 9.30am

John Kimani runs a doubles clinic for the first hour of the morning (£4 members £5 non members) giving tactical advice and occasional technical help to club players who just want to get a bit more out of their club games. All ages and abilites are made very welcome and can stay on to play for as long as they wish when John leaves.

Get more involved by volunteering

We are always looking for extra help for all sorts of little jobs - whether it is hanging up nets, keeping the weeds at bay, clearing out rubbish, mending fences, sorting out software, applying for grants, taking photos... we are so grateful to all our members who give up their time to help out with tasks large and small. If you'd like to become even more involved, you are welcome to join the committee, and then you can do exciting things like plan the open days and agree how much membership fees will be! To offer help, or enquire about the committee email Maggie.
