During more normal times, we have competitions, open days, new courses for beginners... We'll be back with all our Club Sessions, Box League, Coaching etc from March 29th
Lots of Tennis Opportunties for Club Members
Any members who would like to play a few extra games can join the box league - usually we have four in a box, so that's three games to be played over about five weeks. You'll be with people of roughly the same ability, so expect very competitive games!
Sunday Afternoon - Tea and Tennis from 3.00pm.
Play a couple of sets, relax and chat with a cup of tea and some cake. Then play some more! All members welcome, this is a very sociable and relaxed way to play tennis. Booking is essential but it's a simple process that's open to all members.
Club Nights - Mondays from 7.00pm
All members are welcome to take part in Club nights, where everyone gets a friendly welcome whatever your standard of play. If you're new to the club just come down and get on court where you'll soon find new friends and playing partners. There are no restrictions on the floodlights so you can play as late as you want to. Members book a place before they arrive, which is a very simple process and ensures there's not too much waiting around to play.
Look out for the American Doubles events that are held occasionally on Mondays.
Match Practice - Tuesdays from 7.00pm
Members who play, or aspire to play, for our senior league teams are welcome to match practice. The club enters teams in summer and winter leagues and new players are always welcome. Teams play in various divisions of the leagues, so most players who enjoy competitive matches get a game. Selection is on merit, not seniority. Anyone interested in playing in the teams should contact a team captain. You'll find their details here . Some juniors are invited to play in senior teams on the advice of our Head Coach, who organises the junior teams.
If you want a good workout then join a Cardio Tennis session. Our Head Coach, Toby Huddlestone organises these and bookings are open now.
Our tennis programme has recently undergone a major refresh. Alongside our general activites Toby, our new Head Coach has introduced a wide range of courses for minis, juniors and adults. Information on all these can be found on our coaching pages. All courses are bookable online and Toby is always happy to give further advice on which might suit you and your family. Watch the website and social media pages for more news.
Get more involved by volunteering
We are always looking for extra help for all sorts of little jobs - whether it is hanging up nets, keeping the weeds at bay, mending fences, sorting out software, applying for grants, taking photos... we are so grateful to all our members who give up their time to help out with tasks large and small. If you'd like to become even more involved, you are welcome to join the committee, and then you can help plan the future of the club, along with battling the budget and agreeing how much membership fees will be! To offer help, or enquire about the committee email Maggie.
