We are delighted to announce we have appointed TWO LTA Level 4 Head Coaches to Barnton Park Tennis Club.

Please welcome Gavin Vickery and Joan Arroyo who work in partnership as Smash It Tennis Academy.

They currently both coach at St Serfs and will share their coaching between St Serfs and Barnton Park going forward. Gavin is also the tennis coach at Heriots and Joan at Fettes.

Joan is Spanish and was a top junior player in Spain and played with top juniors Rafael Nadal, Nicolas Almagro, Marcel Granollers and Stanislas Wawrinka. Joan enjoys coaching players of all levels, ages and stages. His main focus will be running the adult coaching programme.

Gavin is Australian with 30+ years experience teaching at all levels, ages and stages including players with disabilities. His main focus will be running the juniors coaching programme.  

The benefit of having two Head Coaches is that they can support each other with both the adult and junior coaching programmes.

Their mission is to make learning tennis fun and enjoyable for all players. Whether you are a junior, an adult, a beginner or a competitive player.
