Other Roles & Member Representatives

Larry Young: Committee Member

Larry is a retired Royal Navy Engineer and has lived in the village for 36 years. Both he and his wife Sue are long- standing members of Brucehaven Tennis Club and continue to contribute a huge amount to club activities and to the upkeep of the club.

When he’s not in the village, Larry is likely to be found somewhere fulfilling his passion for the great outdoors, including hillwalking, skiing and world travel.

Larry has been on the Committee since 2000,  previously as the courts convenor, and now supporting in any way he can. He also enjoys running ‘fun tournaments’ for the club so keep an eye out for an invitation to those.

Jamie is originally from Thurso in Caithness, and moved to Charlestown four years ago after living in Glasgow for 18 years.

Jamie joined the committee in 2023 as joint membership secretary alongside Kira, with responsibility for administration of the club’s various membership packages and assisting with any membership issues that may arise.

Jamie is also our second Welfare Officer, helping Rebecca Crabb make sure the club offers a safe and inclusive tennis environment.

He is looking forward to working with the committee to make the club function in the best way it possibly can, and to meet members old and new and assist them in any way he can.

Kira Murray: Joint Membership Secretary

Kira moved back to Limekilns three years ago and after not playing for many years she has picked tennis back up again.

In 2023 Kira joined the committee and has a keen focus on bringing the community together through tennis.

Kira will be working with Jamie on membership and assisting with various other aspects of the club.

Communications Officer: Sophia Ward

We were delighted when Sophia joined the committee in 2021 as the club’s first Junior Member Representative.

Sophia was born and brought up in the villages and has been playing tennis since she was 7 years old. She loves playing tennis and helping to deliver tennis events.

Sophia gained the Tennis Leader award in the autumn of 2019 and has built up lots of experience since then helping coaches with junior groups, camps and competitions. She hopes to gain the LTA’s Level 1 Coaching Assistant qualification in 2022.
