See latest update above - Tennis courts are open again (restrictions apply)
Fri, 15 May 2020 00:00
Good news: following the latest Government and LTA advice, our courts have opened again for pre-booked tennis sessions only.
This is restricted to either for singles play with a person who does not have to be a member of your household or singles or doubles play with members of your household. A member can bring along family who is staying with them as a guest as long as the 'guest fee' is paid on line, however this is limited to 3 'guest' fee uses.
The court can only be booked for AN HOUR per day. Please ensure you leave the courts 5 minutes before the end of the booking.
The guidance provided by the LTA is as follows:
1. Book the court in advance.
2. Wash your hand before leaving your home.
3. Take hand sanitizer with you, but still try to avoid touching your face.
4. Take all your equipment with you: racket, balls, water bottle and BALLS- make sure you clean all this equipment before you take them with you.
5. Mark your tennis balls with your initials- so it is easy to identify them on court
6. Do not touch the benches, fencing and gates as far as you are able to- do not share any equipment.
7. Do not chase your ball on to other courts if they are being played on, but wait for them to be kicked or hit across to you with a racket. ( do not touch other people's tennis balls)
8. Do not swap ends- if you feel you really must do so, make sure you swap at different sides of the net to each other to maintain your distance.
9. No physical contact whatsoever, maintaining the 2 metre distance from everyone at all times (except your own family). This means that if you are chasing a ball on court - you will cease to do so if it means it forces you to run into someone else's personal space-- Please use common sense.
10. Wash your hands when you get home.
Given the length of time tennis activity has been suspended, it is advised that anyone returning to court eases themselves back into play gently.
Before choosing to play please consider your own circumstances carefully and know that you play at your own risk. Do not leave your home to play tennis if you or someone you live with has symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the coronavirus.
