Leagues Ladders & Tables

Social leagues for Spring & Summer 2026

Singles & Doubles Ladders:

For the Spring and Summer 2026 season we are running a tennis ladder leagues (singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles) in which players can organise a match with other players on the ladders.

At the end of the season the 2 men and women/pairs at the top of the ladders will receive a prize!

The rules for the singles ladder league are:

  1.  Any ladder player may challenge any other player who is up to 3 places above them.
  2. Because we have very few women, some might not want to challenge men, they can challenge the next woman above their position on the ladder instead.
  3. The challenge must be accepted and the match played within 2 weeks, or the challenger will be deemed the winner and the challenge expunged.  Should a player withdraw from an agreed challenge, the challenger shall be given a walkover, along with any associated changes to the ladder positions.
  4. If a player being challenged can't play due to good reasons (out of country / holiday/ illness/injury), please try to arrange an alternative date or challenge another person on the ladder.
  5. The winner of each match will take the place of the loser, if the loser was higher on the ladder.  The loser will move down one place.  If not, the players remain in their same positions.
  6. Only challenge a new player once you've completed your current challenge.
  7. No-one can challenge the same player more than twice within any 4 week period.
  8. Matches will be one long set only, first to 8 games by 2 clear games, with a tie-break at 8-8 if required.  (So someone could win 9-7 without going to a tie-break).
  9. All members must be prepared to play regularly and ideally at least once every 2 weeks, or lose their position.
  10. The ladder will be updated every two weeks at least. Please submit scores to me directly so I can keep the ladder up to date.
  11. Except where stated above, usual rules of tennis apply.

The rules for the doubles and mixed doubles ladder league are:

  1. Any ladder pair may challenge any other pair who are up to 2 places above them.
  2. Rules 3-11 of the singles ladder applies to the doubles ladder accept for rule 8. Matches will be played best out of 3 sets with a 10 point tie breaker as a 3rd set if drawn at 1 set each.

If you are interested in joining any of the ladders, please reach out to Irma Cooper via email at social@cambournetennis.co.uk
