What are the drills and cardio tennis sessions?
They are a great way to get fit and meet people.
Cardio tennis is an engaging and sociable group fitness class which takes place on the tennis court and is open to players of all ages and abilities. It is a high energy session of drills and games played with up-tempo music. The idea is to keep the heart rate up, burn calories and have fun!
Drills are group sessions during which players are put into situations that might occur during a point in a match. The repeated experience of being in these situations builds up the muscle memory to respond as quickly as possible when they happen during match play. Drills sessions are focussed mainly on doubles and are great fun, active and sociable!
When are they?
Drills is on Saturday morning from 10 to 11. Followed, if desired, by coffee and a chat on the terrace.
Cardio tennis is on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8.
How much do they cost?
They cost £5 for members. There is a supplement for non members.
How do I join them? Do I need to reserve?
You do not need to reserve though it can me helpful if you let the coach know that you are coming. You can just turn up.
How do I receive updates about the cardio and drills sessions?
We have a WhatsApp group to keep you updated about drills and cardio cancellation due to the weather. Please ask Bjorn to join the group.
Which coach organises these?
They are organised by Bjorn Merritt as a coach.
LTA level 3.
Bjorn also does individual coaching, summer camps and takes the drills and cardio tennis.
