Coaches
Guernsey is lucky to have a number of highly qualified tennis coaches. There are a number of different options for coaching from after school lessons to summer camps and individual lessons.
Andy Privett - Guernsey Tennis Club
LTA Level 3 Coach
Andy has been coaching since 1985. In 1987, he was appointed Head Coach at the Surrey Tennis Club were he coached former British No 1, Chris Wilkinson. He has been based at the Guernsey Tennis Club since 1999 and has represented the Island in many competitions since then.
Andy enjoys coaching children and adults of all ages and abilities.

Jo Robinson - Guernsey Tennis Club
LTA Senior Performance Coach (UKCC4), LTA Panel Tutor for primary and secondary school teachers and licensed tutor for the Tennis Leader Award
Jo has led the Guernsey and the Channel Islands Womens’ teams at numerous Island Games, Inter-Insulars and County Cup competitions over a long and distinguished playing career. Passionate about developing tournament-level players she has spent time at the Nick Bolletieri Tennis Academy (Florida) and the Mouratagalou Academy (Paris) to learn and observe the coaching methods employed by the world’s leading junior academies

Lauren Barker - Guernsey Tennis Club
LTA Level 3 Coach
Lauren has been playing tennis since she was 4 and now coaches both Tennis and Padel at the Guernsey Tennis Club. Lauren has represented Loughborough University at Tennis which is where she gained her coaching qualifications. Lauren has represented Guernsey at several Island Games and was formerly the Tennis Development Officer for the Island. Lauren enjoys coaching mini Tennis and coaching adults who are new or returning to the sport.

Rob West - Kings
United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Elite Professional & LTA Accredited Coach
Rob started playing Tennis aged 4 and it has been his passion ever since. He attended University in the United States and played in NCAA Division 1 Tennis for 4 years before returning home to Guernsey in 2010. After coaching at the Guernsey Tennis Centre for over a decade, Rob has now taken a position as Head of Sports at Kings. Rob enjoys coaching mini Tennis and working with performance juniors.

Richard Smeed - St Martin's LTC
LTA Level 4 Coach
Richard runs daily group coaching sessions for kids aged 3-18, with all standards catered for.
Adult individual lessons are also available, from beginner to County standard.
