2. Closing and Alarming the Clubhouse
Before Leaving:
- Shut the court gates – this prevents animals damaging the nets
- Pull down shutters – use the pole behind the front door to operate the shutters. They do not need to be locked
- Turn off the floodlights
- Turn oft the clubhouse lights including the office, kitchen & lounge. The lights in the corridor and changing rooms are operated by motion sensors and switch off automatically.
- If the heating is on, check that the radiators in the main room are all set to the low setting (8 degrees)
- Set the alarm - these instructions will have been sent to you by email on joining the club
- Lock the door and exit through the front door only
- Ensure remaining players are members who know how to lock up. If they are non-members, please ask them to leave and lock up as usual and notify Mary/Lawrence
3. Floodlights
- All members are welcome to use the court floodlights when needed but please help save electricity by switching them off when not in use. The Club does not charge an extra fee for their use but they do consume energy, cause light pollution and cost the Club money, so do turn them off at the end of play.
- Only turn on the floodlights for the court that you are using
- It is a requirement of our lease that the floodlights automatically turn off at 22:00. If you are playing late and the lights go out, always turn off the floodlights manually from the clubhouse after use otherwise they will turn back on automatically in the morning.
- The floodlight switches are in the clubhouse corridor, near the changing rooms (click here to see where switches need to be).
