Davis Cup Legacy Update

The Davis Cup legacy project was an LTA initiative to inspire the next generation of children and their families to pick up a racquet on the back of our historical davis cup win last year. The project offered 10 places to children between 5-8 years old to take part in a 6 week coaching course. The course was a great success with 10 budding players enjoying the sessions week in week out, learning about a different Davis Cup Team member each week. For their perserverance and unending enthusiasm, each player was rewarded with a free tennis racquet upon completition of the course. We have already seen over half of the group sign up to further tennis which bodes well for the longevitiy of such a project.

We hope the LTA will continue to roll out such initiatives in the future to encourage more children to take up our fantastic sport and keep children active!

Don't forget this weekend: Great Britain V Serbia in the quarter final of the Davis Cup 2016.
