Day 3 of the LTA British Tour event at Corby sees the start of Main Draw, with just Jack Haworth sustaining local interest. He beat Alexander Zuchelman, the No2 seed in qualifying 6-2 6-1 in little over an hour to take his place in the 32 draw, which sees him in action at 12.00 midday today. The difference in serve proved to be decisive yesterday, with Haworth’s variation causing too many issues. A number of spectators from Corby Tennis Club turned up to support Jack, keen to see the improvement he made while at Brown University in USA for the past 4 years. Today he takes on Felix Gill. Northants No1 lady, Cassie Dix has a tough day yesterday. First she came through in 2.5 hours against Olivia Rook, before going down in a 3 hour battle against Amy Leather 4/6 6/4 6/4 in the last round of qualifying.
