Box leagues
Box leagues offer a chance to play competitive matches against your fellow club members in small groups of roughly the same standard. The leagues are open to everyone - they aren't divided by gender or age.
We've been running a singles box league almost all-year round since April 2024, and are now trialling a doubles box league that we hope to run a few times a year in the spring and autumn.
Box league entry is included in your membership - there's no per-season entry fee to pay.
If you have any questions, contact league organiser Ynda via the details on the Our team page.
How it works
The box leagues are played in 'seasons' lasting roughly 6-8 weeks for singles and 4 weeks for doubles. Within a given season, you'll be grouped in a 'box' with around 5 other players for singles and 3 other teams for doubles.
We'll do our best to group you into boxes with players of a similar standard based on previous performance and the knowledge of the league organiser and team captains. Feel free to give us an estimate of your level if you're entering for the first time.
It'll be up to you to arrange matches with your opponents. Matches are best of three sets with the third set being a match tiebreak (first to 10 points). Match results will count towards your World Tennis Number.
Full rules are on the Box league rules page.
How to join
The next singles season will start in late May (2026). The next doubles season will start on 25 March 2026. Contact Ynda if you'd like to enter.
You need to have an active LTA Advantage Play+ membership to join - club membership entitles players to this for free. If you haven't already, you can activate your membership via the LTA Advantage page.
