The Club Captain's role is fundamental to the development of our club.

Role & Responsibilities

• find out which players, (male & female), would like to play in team competitions
• chair a meeting with team captains from the previous season, firstly before the summer league season & later before the winter season, with the senior coach
• for each team, produce, with input from team captains, a list of players to represent that team, taking into consideration relevant information

Team Tennis Squads - Summer Leagues 2022 (Published March 1st - open to revision throughout the season)

• allocate new players to team lists based on prior feedback
• decide team sizes
• appoint team captains for the forthcoming season following discussion
• publicise team composition and captains to all team players
• act as an arbitrator when teams look to use players other than those initially allocated to their team
• determine how many teams the club will enter for summer & winter leagues
• co-ordinate when home matches will be played by different teams in line with tennis calendar of events
• pre-plan re-arranged matches especially with 3 pair
• advocate team coaching (Wednesday evenings) & kit
• publicise pre-season practice
• formulate a template so that fixture & participants can be put up or presented on line
•  co-ordinate end of season social event 
• publicise important promotion/relegation matches to members & players & encourage them to support our teams
