Junior Weekly

Our junior sessions follow in line with the LTA Tennis Youth programme.

The LTA Youth programme is structured to allow children to develop their capabilities as they grow and is split into 5 main areas.

  • Blue 4-6 years - Develop fundamental coordination skills
  • Red: 6-8 years - Serve, rally and score
  • Orange: 7-9 years - Develop a rounded game
  • Green: 9-10 years - Put your skills to the test
  • Yellow: 10 years+ - playing the game

Please note that age groups are guidelines, and the coaching team will help guide all players to the right session/colour to help them develop at the speed most suitable for them.

In each of these areas, we have split the Junior programme into two standards, 1) The Hotshotz programme for players developing the skills to learn to rally, serve, return and play, and 2) The Road To Competition (RTC) for players who can now rally and play the game with their peers and will be looking to start to compete or represent the club or are already competing.

Please click here to download our weekly junior schedule, which is bookable via our Crawley Tennis Club app. The junior programme is bookable half-termly and follows alongside the school term timetables. After 1 half term as a non-member, you will be required to join the club to continue in the coaching programme.

We are keen to allow children to take their tennis from the practice court to play small informal competitive games and for those who wish to play tennis competitively in a more formal tournament environment. Please look out for more information on this in the coming weeks and months.

Please message our Director of Tennis, Grant Broadley, at coaching@crawleyltc.co.uk for further information.
