Join our Coaching Programme
Our coaching programme provides fantastic opportunities for both adults and juniors to learn and improve their tennis skills at all levels. The junior programme includes group development and performance sessions catering for juniors aiming to be the next Rafael Nadal or Emma Raducanu to those who just want to learn, improve and enjoy the game.
Our junior coaching ethos is designed around the LTA Youth Programme. Players play and learn together in a safe and friendly environment, helping them develop their tennis skills.
For adult players we operate a six week Tennis Xpress programme which is aimed at beginners or returners to the game. Our Thursday Ladies Coaching & Matchplay session is another great way for more intermediate level players looking to improve their skills with a blended mixture of instruction and match play. Team training sessions cater for the more experienced members of the club that are competing more regularly.
Our coaches also offer private individual lessons.
To deliver these programmes we have a great coaching team:
Head Coach: Andy Margarson moved back to his home county and original home club as a junior himself just over ten years ago now after training and working for almost fifteen years previously in Yorkshire and London as a professional coach. He began his coaching career at the David Lloyd Club in Hull which was at the time one of only three high performance centres within the group nationwide. Working alongside National Junior Age Group Coach Richard Plews the team there had a contingent of 25 plus juniors all competing at county through to junior national and international level including local lad at the time Kyle Edmund (who went on to reach a career ATP high of No 14 in 2018 after making the Australian Open semi-final). An LTA Level 4 Accredited + coach Andy tripled the number of juniors accessing the club after just a couple of years upon his return and has created a fun learning environment for all ages over time. His strong communicational and organisational skills allied with good technical knowledge has helped a large number of the club junior and adult members improve their game and the teams overall achievements have seen two county age group champions.
