Strength and Conditioning

Tennis places high physical demands on the body, so it is vital that the players are given the opportunity to develop the physical robustness to be able to withstand and deal with the physical demands placed on them on the tennis court. Further to this, playing a lot of tennis creates imbalances in the body, and comes with significant risk of injury in a developing young body. The most effective way to keep players free from injury and physically ready for the demands of the sport is to ensure that their tennis age (years they have been playing tennis) and their training age (years they have been taking part in S&C) match as closely as possible.

We’re in a very fortunate position to be able to provide high quality S&C coaching.  Our S&C program is designed to develop the LTA’s three core pillars (robustness, powerful, great agile movers). Our sessions which will run throughout the year support the players in developing these physical capacities, which are recognised throughout the LTA Performance Player Pathway.

Our S&C programme is delivered in-person as part of our weekly programme for the competitive players, as well as online.  I highly recommend that you sign up for the online S&C course designed and delivered for me by Whitton Fitness.  This will help you to get stronger, fitter, faster, and fulfil your potential, helping you remain injury free throughout your tennis career.
