Tennis Courts

The Club expanded from three to five courts as a result of winning Sport England Lottery funding in 1996, mainly justified by our substantial contribution to Junior coaching at that time.

We resurfaced our match courts 1 to 3 with a state of art “Poraflex” surface and constructed the two additional courts to provide year round tennis with LED floodlights

Clubhouse

We refurbished the Clubhouse in 2023, replacing the kitchen, changing the internal layout to be much more open and repainted and generally brightened the feel. We have already made important changes to the footpath from the car park and are looking to install accessible toilets and an accesible court 4 & 5 entrance gate as soon as possible following further fundraising efforts.

Ideas for fundraising would be greatly appreciated from our Members and volunteers to help the club deliver future plans. Please contact any trustee with your ideas and how you would be able to assist.

Our traditional Clubhouse has seating inside and an area on the terrace, toilets, and facilities to make drinks and simple food. The Clubhouse is the place to hangout whilst socialising at the club or inbetween matches.

The Trustees of the Club have plans to implement LTA recommendations for the future of tennis playing in the UK as well as maintain the viability and secure the future of village tennis in Great Ayton.
