Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It is played on a doubles size badminton court indoors or outdoors, using paddes and a polymer 'whiffle style' ball over a tennis style net.
Play is usually doubles format but you can play singles too. There is less distance to cover than on a tennis court so it can suit players who can no longer run for tennis balls, but it is still an energetic game with fast and slow elements to play. and can be a good workout for fitness. Strategy is key to better play once you have mastered the basics. However it is easy to learn the game so you can enjoy social play with us at a beginner level.
Our sessions are for ages 16+ although if you have a child under 16yrs keen to play please do get in touch to discuss.
In Hingham we use the 3 badminton courts inside the Hingham sports hall.
Please check out the 'dates to play' tab on this page to check when we play. In general we aim to have sessions every Friday morning, Tuesday evenings plus the last Sunday evening of each month. Updates will be posted on the dates to play tab here.
We have a WhatsApp Pickleball group and an email contact group which players can join for free. Sessions are pay and play at just £3 per session which is to cover court hire costs. Coach led sessions may also be arranged- please get in touch to find out more.
