Court Use
- At the end of play it is essential players check the Tennis Hut and Courts are safely locked up and any lights switched off.
- Only non-marking, non-ridged and non-slip tennis shoes should be used on the courts – players will be asked to leave the courts if they are not wearing appropriate shoes.
- We are a family friendly club so appropriate language must be used at all times.
- All equipment must be treated with respect, all footwear must be appropriate for outdoor courts and food or drink on court (except non breakable water bottles) is forbidden.
- There must be no smoking, use of drugs or alcohol on court at any time.
- If sharing the courts, please be respectful of others.
- No dogs are allowed on the courts.
- The court surface may occasionally soften during hot weather. If this happens, play must be stopped and the courts locked. Please notify the committee if this happens.
- Players are advised not to play in adverse weather conditions. Do not enter the court area if the courts are icy or slippery.
- Players declare that, to the best of their knowledge, they are medically fit to play and will not play against medical advice. Hingham Tennis has Public Liability Insurance but this does not cover personal injury while playing tennis. Players play at their own risk.
- If you require flood light tokens please obtain these in advance (from the coaches or the Hingham Sports and social club bar. The tokens cost £2 for 20 minutes of play. IMPORTANT: If the floodlights go off you must wait 10 minutes to re-light them once they have switched off in order to prevent very expensive damage to the lights.
