One of the highlights of the tournament year is the Don Gill Tournament and BBQ. This event was set up by Neil and Alison Gill 8 years ago with support from Don and Margaret. It is typically held in May and is a good fun start to the summer season.

Don is still a member of the club having retired from the sport a few years ago after almost 20 years as a player. Apart from his love of tennis, Don has been an active member of the committee. He was treasurer from 1999 to 2004 and continued his support with responsibility for ground maintenance for several years.

This tournament is handicapped, so that all members can come enjoy the day. At the end of play, a BBQ and a few drinks are served up to the players and spectators alike.
