JUNIOR TENNIS
Holiday Tennis starts tomorrow (Saturday 17th December) with Junior Tennis running 9-10am, 10am-12pm & 12-3pm with a Christmas Party Theme, FREE Hot Dogs, some party food, & Prizes! We also need to decorate some Xmas Trees so we are thinking a boys tree versus a girls tree!
If you are not a usual Saturday attendee you are more than welcome to come along & join the fun! You can bring a food contribution if you like, although it's not essential, we have plenty!
With the severe weather impacting our court usage & the forecast turning warmer & wetter from Sunday, we don't plan to run any tennis Sunday & Monday, but we will run tennis on Tuesday! We should be running 10am-12pm & 12-3pm sessions with a similar format to Saturdays. That's it for the lead up to Xmas & as the forecast is generally wet for the days over Xmas & just after so we will hold off on announcing any further arrangements.
ADULT TENNIS
Our Adult tennis sessions have been CANCELLED over the recent cold snap so we recommend if you want to come out over the holiday period make sure you are on the relevent WhatsApp group by visiting the CLUB SESSIONS page. Even if you are not a FULL member, consider joining as we will only ask for a small contributon for the remainder of this tennis year (to Mar '23)
We launched the Ladies Doubles BOX LEAGUE but as yet there hasn't been an opportunity to play & thus we haven't launched the Men's Doubles or the Singles leagues, but we will give this some thought if the weather looks to improve.
NEWSLETTER
There should be a December/January Newsletter shortly, in the meantime a few recent mentions. A reminder that our COMPETITION page is constantly updated for all competitions, including results & upcoming events. It includes adult & junior events & most recently those competing have been Daniel, Edward, Jools, Kit, Ralph D, Robin, & Seth. Of note, Edward & Seth took a Grade 4 County Tour title at 11U Boys Doubles & 8U County Champion Robin is now 7th in Devon at 9U after competing in just two rankings events. Articles for all these events are on our NEWS section of the website.
On the competition front, it is probably important to mention that ILFRACOMBE TOURAMENT is set to return for 2023, a nine day Grade 4 event running SAT 29th July to SUN 6th August. Most events will likely be one day in format & there are age groups from 8 & under right through to 60 & over. We will be looking for volunteers with helping us to put this event back on the map!
