Tennis at Home

LTA Youth isn’t just about tennis; it’s about kids developing mentally and physically on and importantly, off the court.

You can improve your tennis skills any time, any place, with our LTA Youth Home Activities hub, it's full of activities for the whole family. Even “that” uncle who gets way too competitive.

Our LTA Youth Home Activities hub consists of four areas. Click on a link below to be taken directly to that section or take a look through each area by scrolling down this page.

Personal Development

Personal development is an important part of the primary curriculum. LTA Youth provides schools with inspirational content, giving children the chance to explore key character qualities demonstrated by tennis players, such as resilience, perseverance, passion and respect. We’ve adapted some of this, so children and their families can learn together at home.

There are five challenges, which you can complete inside your home or in an outside space if you have one – why not complete one a day?  You don’t need any special equipment – some challenges need no equipment at all; others only whatever you can find around the home.

Each challenge focuses on one key character quality; however, children are encouraged to think about the other qualities which they might be using too. There is also a final ‘personal challenge’ which encourages children to develop a skill over the course of a week.

These challenges are aimed at children aged 7-11 years old.

Learning Activities

LTA Youth provides schools with resources to help teachers deliver tennis themed lessons across the curriculum and we’ve adapted some of these, so children and their families can learn together at home.

There are some simple ‘warm-up’ activities, which will take children around 15 minutes to complete. Children can then take part in exciting, tennis themed lessons, lasting around 45 minutes, covering subjects such as numeracy, literacy, geography and science!

Children can complete the activities inside your home or in an outside space if you have one – why not complete one a day?  You don’t need any special equipment – some need no equipment at all; others only whatever you can find around the home.

These challenges are aimed at children aged 7-11 years old.
