WORKING PARTY WEEK - From Monday 16th October

From Monday October 16th, the week immediately prior to the school half-term, we are planning a WORKING PARTY WEEK to get the clubhouse & courts ready for the winter. We would like to plan activities around times adjacent to club sessions but also some times where more members are available & many hands make light work! 

 

CLUBHOUSE

Clearing out the Guttering (potentially back & front). For the back we will need a very long ladder!

Broken & Perspex Window Pane Replacement (6)

Painting Windows, inside & out

Cleaning Windows, inside & out

Cleaning &/or Painting Walls Inside 

General Cleaning

Fix Water Heater & dripping external pipe (side nearest courts) 

Updating Noticeboards - we need to make these more specific to the user groups within the club & inviting new members into those user groups, promoting contact groups e.g. WhatsApp groups. Information specific to Adults, Juniors & Mini's, New member welcome information & how the club is run e.g. coaches, committee, key contacts for each activity group, e.g. club sessions & competition age groups - PARTIALLY DONE, NEED CONTENT IDEAS!

UPDATE: Two new noticeboards have been added, one with a full 12 month calendar for event marking & one giant wipeboard for quick notices & ideas suggestions

Improving Storage & Furniture layout

QR Codes for WhatsApp groups - DONE

Seating - more, less, old, new etc

Recycling - location & awareness & "many hands" taking some from time to time, although we may sign-up for council collection

Lost Property - location & awareness

First Aid - we need someone to be our First Aid representative & mange the first aid boxes with a periodic check & ordering of replacement items

Defibrolator - we need someone to be our DEFIB champion & mange a periodic check & ordering of replacement items

FENCING REPAIRS including gates. For instance, there are a number of old padlocks that need removing & some improvements to the bottom fence line to stop escaping balls & some small holes in the fencing that can be remedied before they get bigger. Some wire work may be possible, although we are looking at contractors for larger repair jobs  

GATE LOCK - replacement, on ability access gate

GATE REPAIRS - remove old non-working locks, repair holes in gate wiring that allows animals onto court

SIGNS! - court numbering & court scoreboards

Net Winders & Measurers - location, storage, awareness

FLOODLIGHTS - should be replaced this week, we just need a few dry days to ensure the ground is firm enough!

 

We will talk to groups within the club & start to map out days & times for much of the work above...TBC
