Welcome to Irby Park Tennis Courts.

Negotiations for the land that is now Irby Park began in late 1936. It was originally to be sold for building but the council intervened to provide public open space for residents of the Irby Ward. Money to purchase the land was borrowed from the Ministry of Health and work began in February 1937 to make the land suitable for playing fields with provision of a playground for children. In March 1937 it was agreed to fund a coronation day celebration on the site with running races, prizes, tea and cakes all provided by the council.

You can book the courts for free through the bookings tab.
