We are pleased to share the latest proposed designs for the new clubhouse.
All the images on this page can be clicked to download full-size .pdf versions.
Two slightly different proposed internal layouts have been developed with a local architect, and these are presented here. The main differences between these are the orientation and size of the storage room and toilet.

Internal layout - Sketch 2
The architect has also suggested two options for the external appearance of the front of the building, and these are shown here. The difference between these is either glazing above the doors, or composite material. Either French or bifold doors could be used as the front entrance for either option.
External appearance - option 1
External appearance - option 2
All options will offer:
- A spacious social area with court views.
- Light blue composite cladding exterior.
- Disabled access via a ramp to the side and a small step at the front (the ramp is not currently shown on the plans).
- A vaulted ceiling in the social space, and a kitchen area with a skylight.
- A fully accessible toilet and separate storage area.
- An extended footprint to the rear for extra space.
- Please note that although the sketches do not show the floodlights, these will be retained.
The committee would like to hear the views of members, and we invite you to follow this link to answer a few simple questions. The committee will take members’ views into account as far as possible but also need to make a judgement when views conflict and consider planning regulations and budgetary constraints. Please respond by Friday 8th August 2025.
The next steps will be:
- Finalise the plans after the deadline for members to submit their views.
- Share the finalised plans with members.
- Resubmit the plans for revised planning permission.
- Create detailed drawings to allow local builders to quote for the building work
- Continue fundraising efforts. The final £15,000 grant from the windfarm arrived recently, however, a funding gap remains.
- Run a thorough tender process, seeking a full turnkey solution (whereby the contractor is responsible for all aspects of the project).
- Select the builder based on pre-agreed criteria and contract / instruct with clear project plans and timelines established.
Thank you for your continued support as we move closer to delivering this exciting project.
The Committee.

Work on the clubhouse continues and we are pleased to provide an interim update -
We are working with a local architect, Lee Alexander of Figment Architecture to update the drawings following the great feedback from our members. Lee is in the process of pulling together the collective ideas and working hard to achieve a balance between cost, quality and of course functionality. We will share a link to these drawings on our club website in the next couple of weeks.
Lee has vast experience in these kinds of projects, as well as lecturing in the subject, and is engaged in the local community on many projects including plans for a brand new community centre in Clifton.
The drawings will include 3D elevations and views in situ to bring to life what it might look like.
Funding remains a priority, we know the cost of builds has risen over the past few years and the building control team will impose certain requirements such as a soak away that needs factoring in.
The amendments made to the first proposal include - extending slightly to the rear of the building, removal of the terrace area, reduction in size of the front doors, permanent ramp access and improved composite cladding finish.
We will update when we have more to share.
