I Play 30 Initiative

We are to delighted to write of a new initiative which Matt Reid Pro Coaching has been selected to host, entitled ‘I Play 30.’ The proposal is to provide sessions for people with any form of disability to come to the club at scheduled times each week and take part in an organised tennis session. The sessions are free of charge and will be led by our Assistant Coach Shaun Watson at Jock's Lane. The sessions will be assisted by volunteers.

Club Captains 2022

Racket Demo Day

On Saturday 11th December, we will be hosting a racket day at Latika JTC with All Things Tennis. Children who are booked on to coaching sessions will have the chance to try out different rackets alongside the normal Saturday programme. Adults are also welcome to try out rackets on courts 4&5 (no booking necessary). The racket demo day will run from 9am through to 3pm. Please ensure your child is booked into their coaching session in advance via the Coaching page.

New Coach Shaun Watson

Some of you have probably already met Shaun, particularly those of you who have players in the Wednesday sessions, or if you came to the recent 50th celebration event 🎉 Shaun joins the Latika JTC coaching team with a wealth of experience from working at clubs in London. He’ll be leading the Wednesday sessions and Thursday squads at Latika, and you’ll probably see him around Jocks Lane running some great adult sessions. Welcome to the team Shaun!

50th Birthday Celebrations

On Sunday 12th September 2021, we were delighted to celebrate Latika's 50th birthday as well as the newly renovated courts on 1,2 and 3. It was such a special day and we're so thankful to the members, parents, committee members and special guests who all helped to make the day so amazing.

Davis Cup Fundraiser Day

We were so happy to see so many of our members and their families attending our Davis Cup Fundraising event held on Saturday 1st May 2021. Ex England and Davis Cup players Danny Sapsford and Luke Milligan spent the day with us running sessions with the children as well as later sessions with adult players. A really fun day was had by all, many thanks to Luke and Danny for hosting such a wonderful event for us at Latika.

Latika Fundraising

We announced at the beginning of this year that we were short of funds required to be able to complete the long awaited courts upgrate at Latika JTC. Since that time we have been overwhelmed by the lengths our members have gone in both initiaiting their own fundraising initiatives, as well as supporting those going to great lengths to raise the money needed to ensure we can get the much needed upgrade done.

Virtual Presentation Evening

Thank you to everyone who joined Latika's first ever virtual Presentation Evening. This was the first time we weren't able to meet in person, naturally due to the events of 2020, but a wonderful evening was had by all. Thanks to those who attended and took part. While we weren't able to run many tournaments throughout the year, it was still great to celebrate the results we did have and the players who took part.
