Parkinson's Tennis
We are proud to announce that Loddon Tennis Club runs a successful and well-established Parkinson's Tennis Program throughout the year. Building on the initial work of Tennis Able, we have developed a fantastic program that we are keen to expand.
Our sessions aim to be fun, active, and mentally stimulating, while also recognising the social importance of coming together. We treat each participant as an individual, although we understand that there will be shared experiences.
The sessions are held every Thursday at Loddon's Jubilee Indoor Hall and are led by Ross Wilson, a Level 3 Accredited+ Tennis Coach. We are also incredibly fortunate to have Jenny Balfour, an experienced and highly qualified physiotherapist, who will attend as many sessions as possible to provide support and guidance whenever needed.
We welcome inquiries from family members and carers of those living with Parkinson's. If you are interested in getting involved or know someone who might be, please contact Ross Wilson at rossewilson@btinternet.com or call him on M: 07952 5966221.
As a club and committee, we are grateful to have the full support and continued backing of Norfolk LTA and Parkinson's UK. Their experience and knowledge have been invaluable in helping us continually develop and improve our tennis programme and we look forward to welcoming you.
Walking Tennis
In addition to this, Loddon Tennis Club also runs a Walking Tennis programme, designed for older and less mobile individuals who are still keen to get out, socialise, meet new people, and, importantly, exercise to stimulate both body and mind.
