Social & Single Leagues

Social League

The main aim of the Social League is to be a fun session, majoring on the social element in the bar after matches, so all standards of players are welcome.

The Social League is run outdoor during the winter season, between September and March. It is open to all adult club members, and some selected juniors based on ability and maturity. It is a mixed doubles and mixed ability format and takes place on Thursday evenings. Each pairing plays for an hour with 3 possible start times, 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm

A draw for partners will take place and pairs will remain together for the whole of a session, (about 6 weeks,) and will play all the other pairs in their league. There are usually 2 or 3 leagues depending on numbers entering. Each winter the aim is to have 3 sessions so players get to have different partners and play different opposition.

Winter Singles League

During the winter season the Club also runs a Singles box league. The players are split into a number of boxes and arrange their own matches against other players in their box over a given period of time.

Matches are played for an hour including the warm up. Sets are not played, only the total number of games need to be recorded.

At the end of the period players are promoted or relegated from their current box and another session starts
