IMPORTANT NEWS

PLEASE NOTE THAT FROM MONDAY 17TH MAY, FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS, TENNIS COURTS 4, 5 & 6 WILL BE CLOSED FOR REFURBISHMENT.

COURTS 1, 2 & 3 ARE OPEN AS NORMAL FOR PLAY. HOWEVER PLEASE BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE AS AVAILABLE COURT TIME WILL BE LIMITED.

UPDATE – FRIDAY 18TH JUNE. THE TARMAC SURFACE HAS BEEN LAID, ROLLED AND IS NOW FINISHED. THE CARPET WILL BE POSITIONED OVER THIS DURING NEXT WEEK AND THE TOP SAND APPLIED. IT IS HOPED, WEATHER PERMITTING, THAT THE COURTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PLAY IN THE WEEK COMMENCING 28TH JUNE.

Markland Hill Racquets Club

Welcome to Markland Hill Racquets Club, a family friendly environment to enjoy a variety of different racquet sports, played across all levels and abilities. We are a club operated by and for its members, with all profits reinvested back into the club. We actively promote all racquet sports within the Bolton Area. Our clubhouse has a licensed bar and full kitchen facilities that are available for external hire as well as for Member’s use. We host many social and family fun events throughout the year. Covid-19 – Update as at Monday 14th June 2021.

Further to the Government press conference earlier this evening it would appear that its status quo, with reference to lockdown regulation, until Monday 19th July. The hoped for exit, on June 21st, from all pandemic rules will not now happen. There is the possibility of a revision to this date, in a minimum of 2 weeks, however and given the statistics regarding the pandemic it would seem unlikely that this will alter the timeline. Patience and common sense are therefore still the current watchwords.

As a result of this announcement the current Club protocols and rules for playing sport etc. will all remain in place.  Please see below.

 Covid-19 – Update as at Monday 17th May 2021.

Following the Government announcement, with reference the easing of the lockdown regulations, please note that with effect from Monday 17th May the Club will be opened up to Members for both Indoor Sports and Socialising. The changing rooms and showers will also be available.

The Covid rules that we have been adhering to will remain in place, please see below.

With regard to Indoor Sport the following rules will apply:

Badminton

1 Singles and Doubles will be allowed.

2 The Rule of 6 or 2 Households will be re-instated.

3 1 to 1 Coaching for Adults and Juniors.

4 The Committee will be able to organise Club nights based on a Group of 16.

5 Group Coaching for Adults or Juniors.

 

Squash

1 A group of up to 6 people or 2 households can now meet indoors.

2 Adults and Juniors can now play full court squash.

3 Squash bubbles and modified versions of squash are not required.

4 Group coaching can now take place with either 4 adults or 6 juniors.

 

Bar

The Bar will be open from Monday to Saturday inclusive. The opening times will be:

Monday - 18.00 to 22.00

Tuesday - 18.00 to 22.00

Wednesday - 18.00 to 22.00

Thursday - 18.00 to 22.00

Friday - 18.00 to 21.00

Saturday - 15.00 to 19.00 

The rules for ordering and collecting drinks will be displayed around the bar, please adhere to them.

Payment will be only by Member's Club Card or Debit/Credit Card.

 

MHRC Club Covid Rules.

1 On entry and exit to the club please sanitise your hands at one of the various cleaning stations.

2 Wear a mask at all times when moving around the Club.

3 On entry please use the QR code to log in or sign the register.

4 Follow the one-way system throughout the club.

5 Follow the rules for order of drinks (table service only).

6 Whilst drinking in the bar or clubhouse please remain seated. 

7 Do not move chairs or tables as these have been spaced to provide the required distancing.

8 Please maintain Social Distancing at all times, the Club deem this to be a minimum of 2 metres.

9 If drinking outside the same rules apply, with regard to Social Distancing.


It is very important that members adhere to the above guidelines, at all times. As a Club we have worked very hard to ensure that these systems are in place hopefully to protect our Members during the pandemic. It is all our individual responsibility to ensure this happens.
