Our environment policy works to preserve and build upon the magnificant site we have. Marlborough Tennis is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which we cherish and preserve. Our action plan led by David Ripley will lay out the details of our work towards net zero as we take a step by step approach to improvement.
As a club we already take action, this approach will formalise it:
-
With Swindon District and Tennis League partners we collectively planted 420 trees 210.06 t CO2 to offset travel
-
We planted 500 trees sapling during gthe build in 2018, are planting anotehr 90 local species in November
-
We encourage cycling and are buying additional new racks
-
Use LED lighting for court light including timers
-
We buy recycled benches (100% recycled plastic) our clothing is UK purchased and the jacket for example is made out of 16 recycled plastic bottles. Energy comes from sustainable resources
-
Tennis balls are either resold for repressuring or cascaded to schools for play
-
Our new clubhouse will be a stellar example that fits with an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
