I don’t have access to a computer – how can I book a court?

At the moment, you can only book a court online and by using a credit or debit card.  If you do not have access to a computer, we will be happy to make this booking for you at the Town Hall, 35 High Street, Thornbury, BS35 1NA.  You will need to come into the Town Hall to allow us to help you with this and bring your credit or debit card with you.

How do I access the courts?

With our SmartAccess gate system, you will be provided with a six digit code in your booking confirmation email which will look similar to *123456. Please ensure you enter * followed by the six digit code.

What it I have trouble accessing the court with the PIN code?

Double check your booking confirmation email/message to ensure you are using the correct PIN code - although this seems obvious, entering the wrong code does happen!  Ensure you are pressing the star or asterisk key before entering the numerical PIN code.  Ensure you are only attempting to enter the code 10-15 minutes or less before your booking time.  If none of the above work, contact Thornbury Town Council for assistance.  If you are experiencing problems outside of normal office hours, you will need to wait until the office re-opens.  We will be happy to process any appropriate refunds at that point.

What does Thornbury Town Council do with the income from court bookings?

Thornbury Town Council uses all income generated from court bookings on maintaining the courts.  This may include putting funds into a "sinking fund" to help finance future maintenance requirements e.g. resurfacing of courts, new fencing, etc.  It is not expected that the income generated from court bookings will exceed the maintanence costs of the courts, but we are hoping it will generate a good contribution towards it, which will help ensure the future of the courts.
