Needingworth Tennis Club Championships 2026 – Tournament Rules
The Club Championship preliminary rounds will be starting on Sunday the 14th of June 2026 and finishing on Finals Day on Sunday the 6th of September 2026.

Entries must be received by 11.59 pm on Wednesday the 10th of June 2026. (Late entries will not be accepted).
Only enter if you can complete the schedule. If a player cannot compete on Finals Day, their spot goes to the previous opponent.
As Needingworth Tennis Club is a registered LTA Venue, the tournament will be conducted in accordance with the LTA Competition Code of Conduct, which outlines the standards of on-court behaviour expected from all participants and prohibits on-court coaching. RULES:
1. All entrants must be current Needingworth Tennis Club members
2. You may enter up to three events:
- Women’s Singles or Doubles
- Men’s Singles or Doubles
- Mixed Doubles (Brian Northwood Cup)
The Club may run a Plate competition for players who lose their 1st round match.
3. Players are free to choose their own partner for all doubles tournaments
4. Seeded players will be based on their form or Fast4 results.
5. The draw will be drawn from a hat by a Committee (except for seeded players).
6. The draw will be published on the website at 5.00pm on Saturday 13th of June 2026 and can be viewed on the website.
7. This tournament is a knockout, with the winner progressing to the next round.
8. Each match, except all the Men’s Finals, will be a Fast4. Sudden death at deuce, with receiver’s choice in all draws except the mixed, where the serve at deuce will be gender to gender.
9. Players to bring their own balls or use club balls for all preliminary rounds.
10. Each round must be played between the following dates:
- Qualifying Sunday 14th June to Saturday 27th June.
- Round 1 Sunday 28th June to Saturday 18th July.
- Quarter Final Sunday 19th July to Saturday 8th August.
- Semi Final Sunday 9th August to Saturday 29th August.
- Final Sunday 6th September
11. If a match is not played by the designated date, the winner shall be deemed to be the player who has attempted to arrange the match. If this is not clear, the winner will be decided by the toss of a coin.
Except in the Final, the rule may be relaxed in some cases for the competition's sake. Any extension requires agreement from the tournament organiser and both your current and next opponents, who can decline the request.
