For their 5th game of the season, the B team packed their bags ready for the arduous journey to Wisbech. 

We eventually got started and quickly found out that Wisbech on their home court of clay were a very strong team. 

John and Colin started off against the Wisbech’s hard hitting 1st pair and were a little slow out of the blocks in the first set, eventually losing 6-2 but started to trade blows in the second set.  In a close fought set, they were unfortunate to go down 6-4.  Against the B pair, their game dropped slightly, and they lost both sets 3 and 4.

Mark and Warren faired a little better.  Against the B pair, they lost 6-4, 6-2 having had a limited warm up on a different than usual surface. They then took the A pairing to 6-4 6-4 in two sets that could go have gone either way.

The only solace was comments from the opposition that it was a lot closer than the score-line portrayed.

Anyway, onto next week Colin will be ineligible therefore John Mark and Warren are joined by Ben Carter for Thursday’s trip to City of Peterborough.
