Christmas American Tournament - 7th December
| Registration is now open for our annual Festive Fun American Tournament! Secure your place now for the tournament on Sunday 7th December. There will be prizes for the winners, seasonal refreshments, and, of course, a Christmas raffle. Everyone is welcome to enter and the format is that you will play short matches of just four games with lots of different partners, so you don't need a partner to enter. Juniors who can play with normal balls, serve and sustain a rally are also very welcome to enter. If you've not entered an American Tournament before, check out the information at the end of article. The number of players in the tournament is limited to 24. It's first come, first served. Once the tournament is full, entries will be put on a waiting list and if places become available, they will be offered to members on the waiting list in the order of booking. It's free to enter the tournament, but we would very much appreciate a prize for the Christmas raffle. Family and friends are very welcome to spectate. So, dig out your Christmas jumper/santa outfit/reindeer antlers or any other festive attire you have to hand and get ready for a fabulous afternoon of tennis! Enter the tournament here. All about our American Tournament Format The American Tournament format will be run by Damian Lane You don't need a partner - all the entrants are paired up randomly and then play as many short matches with and against other members as the time allows. Each match consists of 4 games, with normal tennis scoring and a deciding point (sudden death) at deuce. In each match you play 2 games with our partner, then swap partner and play 2 games against your partner. Each player keeps track of the number of games they have won. The winners are the players who win the most games - simple as that!

Club Championships 2025
| Entries are now closed for the Club Championships 2025. The draw has taken place and matches started in October. There are men's and women's singles categories, men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles too. Once again, after the format was a success last year, the championships will be a knock-out draw using the FA cup as a model - stronger players/regular team players/previous champions will enter the draw in later rounds. The number of rounds will depend on the number of entrants and the aim is to complete the finals by the end of November. Every match in the competition will be 2 sets, with a 7-point tie break at 6 games all. If the match is tied at 1 set all, a 10-point tie break will decide the match. Each round must be completed by the date specified when the draw is made and communicated. | ![]() |
