Court Lighting Guide
To switch on the lights, please open the green cabinet outside the clubhouse (the padlock code is the same as the courts). There are 3 keypads (one for each court), simply enter the lighting code (*) on the keypad for your booked court and this will activate the lights for 60 minutes. You can re-enter the code at any time to provide a further 60' from that point. Please note that entering the code again does not switch off the lights, instead it simply re-starts the clock for another 60'!
When the lights switch off, one lamp above your court will remain on for 5' to enable a safe exit and locking. The courtesy light near the clubhouse will also remain on for 10'. Please do not forget to lock the lighting cabinet.
(*) the code is included in the confirmation email which you receive when booking a court
Lighting Fees
An hourly charge for the lights applies to evening bookings. The cost is kept as low as possible and covers the electricity usage, the ongoing maintenance or repairs and the build up of reserves for future replacement (in 30 years!).
The Committee has decided that the hourly cost required to achieve this is £4 per court, which is consistent with what other clubs charge.
For evening court bookings, the system or app will show a charge of £2 per 30 minute slot, which can be paid by debit or credit card when confirming the booking.
The charging times will be based on daylight hours: from May to August the fee is applied after 9pm, then 7pm in September, 6pm in October (5pm after clocks change), 4pm from November to January, 5pm in February, 6pm in March and 8pm in April (clocks go forward 1 hour at the end of March).
