Staying safe at PTA

We are excited to be open again after a long few months, and thank you to all of you who have enrolled yourselves or your children onto our lessons. It's fantastic to see so many of you back on court.

As we have previously stated we shall be following LTA and government guidelines regarding Covid -19 in a leisure environment and as such we have introduced the following measures that you need to be aware of before entering the centre.

Current COVID-19 Guidance

For informal social play, group size is limited to a maximum of six people by law.

Organised tennis activity for larger groups, including coached sessions, club nights and competitions is permitted by the Government as an exception to the limit of six, and so can continue, provided that venues, coaching providers and event organisers follow LTA COVID-19 secure guidelines.

COVID Assessment

Everyone attending is expected to take a self-assessment for COVD-19 symptoms beforehand; please do not attend if you are showing systems or have been in contact with anybody who has tested positive.  We shall be supporting the government test and trace system so if you develop symptoms after attending the centre you must let us know.

One-Way System

A one-way system is in place for entering and leaving the building by different doors.  This is clearly  displayed throughout the centre with marking on the floors and signs on doors. Please do not try to go the wrong way around the route!  Please do not park your vehicle outside of the exit door even for a few minutes.

Queuing

We have placed 1 metre markers leading up to the courts and outside the centre to assist you in keeping your distance.  Please do not enter the reception area if there are people already queuing but wait until it is safe to do so.  If you are dropping off or picking up your child, please leave as quickly as possible to avoid a build-up of people; please don’t congregate at doors either inside or outside.  Please do not arrive too early, if you do please wait in your car until the start of the session.

Spectators

Spectators are able to watch from the patio area and glass house only, not from reception.

As you know the social distancing rule is 1 metre spacing outdoors and 1 metre + mitigations indoors.  In order to accommodate the maximum number of people safely inside the centre we are requesting adults to wear a mask at all times within the centre, as a courtesy to other customers and our staff please adhere to this.  We shall have masks available if you forget yours.  We request that only one adult should accompany your child(ren).  The patio area seating is spaced out at 1 metre intervals and must not be moved.

Accompanying children

We politely request that you leave other children at home unless it is absolutely necessary for you to bring them with you; if you do bring children into the spectator area they must be supervised at all times and not allowed to wander freely. Please do not move seats; sit in separate seats as they are positioned or ask at reception for further guidance.

Glass House

The glass house is open but not heated as the doors need to remain open; seating in this area is strictly limited to the chairs we have already set out and must not be moved. Our blankets are not available for the time being so please bring your own and ensure you are dressed appropriately for the weather.

Hygiene

Enhanced cleaning procedures have been introduced to minimise the risk of transmission of any infection.  Hand sanitiser stations have been set up throughout the centre and we encourage use every time you enter the centre or move between areas. Tissues are readily available.

Toilets

The toilets are open but limited to 2 people in them at any one time.  Changing facilities are NOT available so please make sure you or your child are changed ready to play before arriving at the centre. Showers are closed.

Drinks and refreshments

Hot drinks are available in takeaway cups from reception; payment must be by card only and we shall not be accepting cash payments.

We  are not selling any cold drinks or snacks. We are not refilling water bottles. Please bring your own drinks bottle and snacks and make sure you have as much as you will require. There is a drinking water tap directly outside reception for use by parents or players aged 11+.

On court

We shall be following LTA guidelines regarding the number of players on court.

We will not be issuing lanyards, and children will be registered on court to avoid crowding in reception. Upon arrival, children are asked to queue using the markings around the side of the glass house (and into reception if necessary). If parents need to talk to the reception team, reception may send the player through whilst talking with the parent to ease congestion and so that the player can get onto court.

Players do NOT need to wear masks but must try to keep a safe distance at all times. Players will be in group ‘bubbles’ and should remain in these bubbles for the duration of their lesson, not mixing with children in a different bubble (unless they are siblings.)

Players will not leave court for breaks. Drinks and bags are to be taken with them and left at the end of their court for the duration of their session. Players will be allowed bathroom breaks as required, but no more than 2 at a time.

Lastly, if you do see anything in the centre that you are not happy with please do let us know so that we can put it right.
