A BRIEF HISTORY

Established in 1883 ,  Rustlings takes its name from its original site in Endcliffe Park, which is off Rustlings Road. It moved to its current site on Collegiate Crescent in 1888. It is Sheffield’s oldest lawn tennis club and was one of the founder members of the Sheffield & District Lawn Tennis Association.

OUR FACILITIES

The Club has retained its name of Rustlings Lawn Tennis Club despite the fact that the three lawn tennis courts have now been converted to all-weather courts, making a total of five tarmacadam courts. All five courts have been recently renovated to provide a new playing surface that will last for several years. We have also installed floodlights on 3 courts. These can be operated from 3 pm and switch off automatically at 9 pm. Please note that membership subscriptions do not include play under floodlights.

In addition to a very active programme of social tennis, which includes organised social tennis sessions, Rustlings offers an all-year-round coaching programme for players of all ages. We also have men’s, women’s and mixed teams that compete in the Sheffield and District leagues throughout the year so if you are interested in playing competitive tennis then Rustlings is the place for you.
