Rustlings Lawn Tennis Club is a friendly local tennis club where new members of all abilities are welcome to join our social members for regular tennis, events and tournaments.
Social Tennis
We offer organised three social play sessions throughout the year on Sundays (10:00 am to 1:00 pm), Thursdays (10:00 am to 12:00 am) and Fridays (6:00 pm onwards). Sessions are well attended and a great way to meet other players of similar standards. Players considering joining Rustlings are welcome to drop in for a free taster social play session to try out the club, and meet some of our social players. Please email our membership secretary (janea_morgan@sky.com) to arrange your taster session.
IntraClub Competitive Play
Rustlings hosts monthly social tournaments, from spring through to autumn. These are very popular and provide the perfect environment to welcome new members to the club and introduce them to some friendly competitive play. Members who wish to play competitively without having to commit to club level matches can also participate in our box leagues, which run throughout the year or join our tennis ladder. Our annual IntraClub Championship tournament, which includes men’s and women’s singles and doubles, mixed doubles and junior events, is always popular.
Team Tennis
It may also be possible to represent Rustlings by playing on one of the teams in the local Sheffield and District LTA leagues. Rustlings fields Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Doubles teams in the Sheffield & District LTA leagues throughout the year. The teams also meet for a match practice session from 6 pm on Wednesday evenings throughout the year. Details of all tournaments are circulated via email to members.
Playing with other members or visitors
When the courts are not in use for matches or organised play, they are available to all members free of charge and can be booked online ahead of play. Members are also welcome to bring visitors along to play. There is a charge of £5 for each adult visitor and £3 for children for a maximum of 2 hours. The number of visits is not restricted. Additional charges apply to play under floodlights.
