Hattie Leslie-Miller
Ladies' Second Team Captain
How long have you been a member of SLTC? I first learned to play tennis when I was three on the courts at SLTC. I spent a lot of time playing here during my junior years, but I officially joined as a member about five years ago.
What made you join SLTC? The opportunity to play competitive tennis, along with how friendly and welcoming everyone at the club is.
What’s your favourite tournament to watch? Wimbledon — you can’t beat the grass-court season!
What’s your favourite shot to play? A down-the-line forehand. They don’t always go in, but when they do and it’s a clean winner, it’s extremely satisfying.
What's it like playing in an SLTC team? Supportive, energetic and great fun. You also come up against some really strong teams in the leagues, which makes it consistently challenging.
What's your go-to snack/drink during a match? You’ll usually see me with a banana or some wine gums for a quick energy boost on court.
How is your team approaching this year’s competition? We’re approaching it with a positive mindset, aiming to stay competitive, support each other and hopefully have a successful season.
