Tennis Liverpool committment

Fair Play is an essential value in sport. We require all clubs in the Tennis Liverpool (TL) leagues to follow the guidance of the LTA and commit to ensuring that sport is played in a fair, open and inclusive nature at all.  

Fair Play includes:

  • Respect: Treat opponents, partners, spectators, and officials with courtesy, honoring both the written rules and the unwritten etiquette of the game.
  • Honesty in Play: Call lines and scores fairly, acknowledging that all points played in good faith stand.
  • Etiquette: Avoid bad language, racket throwing, and shouting.
  • Safety and Inclusion: Ensure a safe environment, welcoming all skill levels and avoiding dangerous play.
  • Responsibility: Players take responsibility for their actions and conduct themselves as positive role models. 
  • Good sportsmanship, honesty and respect whether you win or lose
  • Learning and following the rules and being a role model to younger people
  • Enjoyment of the sport

Every club in the TL leagues and tournaments is required to sign-up to the Fair Play Charter ensuring:-

·      their commitment to promoting the Fair Play values of Good Sportsmanship, Honesty and Respect. 

·      ensuring all their captains and deputies understand the Group Rules and Match Regulations as can be found on the TL website.  

·      Promotion of Fair Play campaign by Tennis Liverpool and its member clubs through the use of posters/banners, the league handbook and  social media.  

 

It is important for everyone to uphold Fair Play both on and off court whether it be players, parents, coaches, officials or volunteers.
