Liverpool tennis star Neal Skupski has won his third Wimbledon doubles title.
Skupski, 33, and partner Wesley Koolhof beat 15th seed opponents Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers in straight sets in the men’s doubles final on Centre Court this afternoon (July 15). The top seed pair won 6-4, 6-4, sweeping their opponents aside with an emphatic performance.
It is Skupski’s third title at the All England Club, having won the mixed doubles in 2021 and 2022. He has become the first British player to win a hat trick of Wimbledon titles since Dorothy Round in 1937 and just the second Briton to win the Wimbledon men’s doubles in the open era.
Skupski attended King David High School in Childwall and began playing tennis at Allerton's Palmerston Tennis Club, which his childhood home backed onto. He is now coached by older brother and former doubles partner Ken Skupski, who called time on his own playing career in 2022.
