Club Squad Programmes

Our Club Squad Programmes include Junior Youth Groups for children who typically play weekly to improve skills, enjoy the game, and benefit socially.

Some larger venues may also run Advanced Player Groups for those playing more than once a week and competing at a club team or tournament level. These players typically demonstrate:

• Enjoyment of the game
• Commitment to Club Membership and a desire to play outside the sessions
• Proficient technique and teachability

Player Development Centre (PDC) Performance Programme

We also run a Player Development Centre 'Performance' Programme for players training and competing at County level and beyond, with aspirations to progress further.

• This is a Tennis Wales registered 10U Performance Programme
• Access is based on strict criteria, including commitment to training and competition schedules appropriate for each age group

PDC Entry Process

• Youngest ages (5–6): Players can be nominated by their group coach to attend a PDC Camp, held off-site. These camps provide longer, more competitive training sessions with a performance coach.
• Progression: If suitable and after gaining prior matchplay experience, children may be invited to join twice-weekly PDC Squads.
• As players grow, training and competition commitments increase, accompanied by parent education and workshops at each stage.
• Late entry: Joining the programme at older ages is possible, subject to meeting the entry criteria.

Important Note:
Due to high demand and limited court space, we currently do not accept players from outside the Tennis Squad network on an ‘access’ basis (i.e., those who undertake the bulk of their programme elsewhere).
