Parks Tennis

Across the UK, a large proportion of tennis is played in public parks alongside traditional clubs. Park tennis can be more accessible, with lower costs, no membership requirements and a drop-in atmosphere. This makes it a great entry point for beginners, casual players, or those who prefer to play seasonally.

At Tennis Squad, we’re proud to work with a number of park venues across South Wales to deliver low-cost community programmes that help new players get started. From there, players can continue to enjoy local park sessions or be signposted to nearby clubs for more structured, year-round tennis opportunities.

🎾 Our Parks Tennis Venues

Llantrisant Tennis Club (Hybrid Park Venue)📍 Southgate Park, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Llantrisant Tennis Club  offers a unique hybrid park setup. Situated within Southgate Park, it features three public clay courts with floodlights, all available to book for public play.

Alongside public access, Llantrisant also runs a club membership scheme, offering social tennis nights, team matches, tournaments, and more — providing the best of both community and club worlds.

Penarth Athletic Tennis Courts 📍 Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan

Penarth Athletic forms part of the Tennis Wales in the Parks programme and features two newly refurbished hard courts, funded through the DCMS government initiative.

Here, Tennis Squad delivers seasonal introductory sessions for adults and wellness tennis sessions in partnership with Speakeasy Club. Courts can be booked hourly or via a low-cost annual pass through the Tennis Wales in the Parks website.

Players who wish to continue playing regularly can join our nearby club, Penarth Windsor LTC, for year-round coaching and social tennis.
