Tennis Squad and Newport Live are delighted to announce a significant development in their ongoing relationship, unveiling a new performance partnership set to launch in September 2026.

This collaboration is designed to enhance opportunities for players across South Central and South East Wales, bringing together two well-established tennis programmes. Newport Live’s growing provision, based at the indoor facilities of Newport International Sports Village, will complement Tennis Squad’s long-standing independent performance programme, which has consistently produced success from local through to regional levels.

At the heart of this partnership is Rob Gaunt, Head of 10U Performance across both organisations. His leadership and years of dedicated work have played a central role in building the strong relationship that has made this collaboration possible.

The partnership will introduce a range of new benefits for players, including opportunities for Tennis Squad Academy players to enhance their training through indoor sessions at Newport Tennis Centre. A series of jointly delivered performance camps will broaden player experience, alongside a structured programme offering outdoor clay court training during the summer and indoor training throughout the winter months.

Both organisations will also continue to share best practice across coaching teams, with aligned systems for player tracking, competition development, and coaching progression. These initiatives aim to strengthen the overall player pathway and raise standards across both programmes.

This partnership marks an exciting step forward for tennis in the region, reinforcing a shared commitment to developing players and expanding opportunities at all levels of the game.
