The Faces Behind Tennis With Evan

🎾 Evan Kennedy – Head Coach

Evan is an accomplished tennis coach with a passion for helping players of all levels reach their full potential. His coaching journey began in Mallorca, Spain, where he started coaching alongside his pursuit of a professional tennis playing career. During this time, his love for coaching grew, as he was working in several high-performance academies with top 100 ITF Junior players.

Since moving to Cardiff, Evan has made a significant impact on the local tennis community. He's coached in the junior programme at Cardiff Met, the South Wales County Cup setup, and served as a primary coach at Cardiff Met University, where he worked with student-players ranging from beginners to first-team athletes. As the University Tennis Coordinator, Evan managed to help boost club membership to its highest level ever.

Now, as Head Coach at Rhiwbina LTC, Evan leads our coaching programme with passion and expertise. With years of experience working with juniors, adults, and competitive players, he blends technical skill with a friendly, approachable style. Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or chasing tournament success, Evan do his very best to help you find your game.

🎾 Stuart Shannon – Coach

Stuart (aka Stu) is a high level tennis coach and player, who is extremely passionate to share his knowledge. Whilst working on a one-to-one basis with many players, as well as coaching on the invitational programme we have at the club, Stu is an integral part of the Rhiwbina LTC club, as he is the newly appointed Men's first team captain. He is most well-known for running a fabulous, insightful and entertaining Rusty Rackets lesson on a Saturday that gets discussed club-wide.

🎾 Siân Davies – Coach

Siân has a natural talent for connecting with players and building their confidence on court. Although she doesn’t spend the most hours on court coaching , she is always full of energy and passion whenever she steps in to help. As a teacher, she has extensive experience working with children to develop both their cognitive and physical skills.

Having played at the club since the age of only 3 years old, and been a first-team member for over ten years, Siân has an incredible depth of knowledge about the inner workings of the club. She is always welcoming to new faces and players, making everyone feel part of the team from day one.

🎾 Jordan Day – Coach

Jordan is dedicated to improving players’ technical ability and tactical understanding through a methodical and personable approach. As one of the club's longest serving coaches, Jordan is highly knowledgable about what works for players of all ages and stages, and succesfully imparts this knowledge to a great number of players on the Rhiwbina LTC programme. His sessions combine focused drills with match-play scenarios, ensuring players develop skills they can use in real games. Jordan has been playing tennis for over a decade, and is one of the very few people still at the club who has represented all of the Men’s Teams here at Rhiwbina LTC. His aspiration for coaching is to ensure children enjoy playing the sport and are able to improve week by week.

As lead of these programmes, Naomi ensures all have a wonderful time whilst learning something new about the sport at every session. She always receives wonderful feedback from all those that attend her Cardio lessons, and holds one of the quickest sell-out rates of the entire programme for her Thursday TOTS session. As part of the club committee, Naomi is also very well known and liked around the club, so is a brilliant point of contact for all those wishing to know more about Rhiwbina LTC.
