Surrey Heath Tennis in the Park Welcome to

Home

Following central government’s decision to change social distancing from 2 metres to ‘1 metre plus’, we are pleased to confirm we will be returning to full operational capacity from Wednesday 8th July.

We would like to thank all of our players for their patience while we have been running a reduced service.

Players should continue to take mitigations to reduce the risk of transmitting Covid-19 such as by bringing antibacterial gel and avoiding the sharing of equipment. In line with the latest guidance, the maximum size of groups will remain at no more than six people and any individual groups should not interact with anyone outside of the group they are attending the venue with (e.g. players on another court).

We will share further updates with regards to the easing of restrictions as decisions are made.

Full updated guidelines for players can be found here.

If after playing you develop symptoms of COVID-19, you should follow the Government's 'Test and Trace' guidelines which can be read on the Gov.uk website. If you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace because you are a contact of a known COVID-19 case, do not exercise outside your own home or garden and do not exercise with others; you can spread the virus to others even if you never get symptoms.

We will continue to update our rules and operation based on the guidance we receive from central government and the LTA. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our facilities safe, and we hope you enjoy playing Tennis in the Park.

At all times, players should adhere to the Government’s social distancing guidelines (staying at least 2m away from others), and practice public health advice for hygiene. If waiting for the previous booking to finish, please wait outside the court area.

  • Please leave the courts promptly at the end of your booking slot.
  • Please bring your own hand wipes or sanitiser to clean equipment or when using entry gates.
  • Do not leave your home to play tennis if Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the coronavirus.

Before booking a slot, please take a few minutes to read the LTA’s Guidance for Tennis Players which contains more key details on how to keep yourself and others players safe.

Council officers will be conducting spot checks to ensure that the rules above are being followed. Surrey Heath Borough Council will be monitoring this situation closely over the coming days and weeks and will make necessary changes as required, and reserve the right to close facilities if these measures are not respected. Any future decision making around the Council’s leisure facilities will continue to be based on guidance received from central government, the Lawn Tennis Association and in consultation with Surrey Police where necessary.
