Key Points
Membership
When you join you must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Club. You must also agree to your personal data being stored and used for Club administration. It should be noted that the email address you provide to the membership secretary will be passed to ClubSpark to enable you to open an account in order to book courts online.
Members should also register with the Lawn Tennis Association and take out British Tennis Membership. British Tennis Lite Membership is free. Membership benefits the Club in a number of ways including in determining the Club's allocation of Wimbledon tickets.
You must register with ClubSpark in order to access the Club's Courts Booking System.
Court Bookings
Courts must be booked in advance including logging the names of all players before play commences. Courts may be booked up to two weeks in advance. Please cancel the booking if you are unable to play to free it up for others. If a booked court is not taken 10 minutes after the start time, the court is deemed as free for play and the booking invalid. Play must cease and lights must be turned off by 2130 (see By-laws for match waivers).
Coaching
Members may not use the club facilities to provide paid for coaching or hitting unless they have written permission from the committee to do so. Proof of adequate insurance will need to be provided and a coaching fee may be charged.
Guests
Any Member may book a court to play with guests up to 5 times a year provided that they enter the name of the non-member on the ClubSpark court booking system and also sign the sheet on the noticeboard prior to commencing play. This does not apply to Junior Members under the age of 16, who are not permitted to bring guests to the Club.
A Guest Fee of £5 per court is billed by the Membership Secretary at the end of the membership year.
At the discretion of the Management Committee, one £5 Guest Fee will be waived per membership year for members who pay their fee by the due date.
If a guest subsequently becomes a member, the Guest Fee is no longer payable (or will be refunded if already paid) and the court booking will not count towards the 5 guest bookings for the member who made the introduction.
Matches
In order to play in matches, players must become full members of the Club before the start of any games (off-peak membership does not qualify).
Access
A keyless fob is required for access to the club grounds and clubhouse. In addition a code is required for the front door shutters. You will be given the code upon joining as a member. Please contact a member of the committee if you are unsure how to use the fob or operate the shutters.
Please also note that Junior members’ fobs can only operate the main gate for access to courts. Adult members can access the toilets. In addition, adult members can request access to the main clubhouse sitting room and kitchen by contacting Jane Welman. For other situations, the clubhouse is generally open during club nights and periods of coaching.
Supervision
Children under the age of 13 are required to be supervised by an adult while on court.
Parking
Vehicles may be parked in the Green Clinic car park as stated in the terms of the Club’s lease. Please do not park in the slot reserved for the Green Lane District Nurses.
