Welcome to the tennis programme at Penarth Lawn Tennis Club.

Penarth Lawn Tennis Club, established in 1884, is one of the oldest tennis clubs in the UK. Situated in the heart of Penarth, overlooking the sea, PLTC has a thriving membership of more than 500 playing and social members and a great social scene. Regular competitions are held at the club, PLTC also enters many teams into the Tennis Wales & Aegon Leagues providing competitive tennis for just about everyone. The club has 6 floodlit courts in total, 3 hard courts and 3 artifcial grass.

Our Programme

The club boasts a thriving coaching programme that operates all year round with mulitple opportunities to play throughout the week for a range of standards.  

Introductory Sessions

LTA Youth Start is a starter course for kids who have not played tennis before, comprising of 6 high quality sessions, that introduce tennis to children in a fun and relaxed environment. When you book your course, we will send you an LTA Youth Start kit bundle, which includes; a tennis racket,  a set of balls, a branded t-shirt and a pair of wristbands - all for just £35!

Junior Club Sessions

Our junior club programme is great for beginners and for existing players. Sessions are open to members and non-members. We have a range of different sessions for all ages including the The LTA Youth Programme. All our junior club sessions are aimed at having fun and learning new skills on the tennis court. 

Junior Squad Programme

Our Squad Coaching Programme is open to members of the club and by invitation only. Squad sessions are aimed at players who play multiple times per week and either are already or are looking to compete in local tournaments and within the club's junior teams. If you are new and would like to join our squad coaching programme please ensure that you/your child is first a member of PLTC and speak to a member of our coaching team before signing up to a session. 

Adult Club Sessions

Our adult club programme is great for beginners and for existing players. Sessions are open to members and non-members. We have a range of different sessions for various playing abilities.  Beginner classes aim to give players the confidence to play a game of doubles within a club environment whereas our intermediate and advanced classes aim to give players the edge they need to succeed within club and team matches. All our sessions are very sociable and are great way to meet new players to arrange to play with.
